Leading hotel chains Somerston and Corus are updating their guest internet access and services to offer more flexible and reliable 24/7 access to customers.
Airangel, a leading supplier of wired and wireless guest internet access, has been appointed to provide WiFi solutions across four Somerston Hotels Limited sites and Corus’ flagship hotel.
Airangel has signed a three-year contract with Somerston Hotels Limited to provide guest internet access at four of its Holiday Inn Express hotels. The deal will see WiFi delivered to over 550 bedrooms and conference and public areas at key sites throughout the UK including Hammersmith, Luton, Swindon and Milton Keynes hotels.
The company has also secured a three-year deal with Corus at its flagship hotel in London’s Hyde Park. Airangel will provide guest internet access throughout the central 385-bedroom hotel. Airangel supplies WiFi to over 11,400 hotel bedrooms across the UK.
The new solutions will see guests enjoy more reliable, 24/7 access to the internet via an individually hotel branded virtual concierge web portal with a comprehensive support service.
The hotels can use the portals to directly market services and information to guests, creating added occasion for personalised dialogue with their customers and extending the brand experience. Additionally hotels can use the unique brand portal to increase external marketing revenue.
Andrew Thombs, IT and systems development manager, at Somerston Hotels Limited, said: “Feedback from our guests tells us that a fast and reliable internet connection is critical to their purchasing decisions.
“Our new Airangel system should offer an even better WiFi service and offering the best WiFi connectivity is critical to our occupancy levels and will allow us to really engage with our guests.”
Dean Wilkinson, sales director of Airangel, said: “These deals mark a fantastic start to 2010 and we will be looking to extend our reach across the hotel and hospitality sector throughout the year.
“We have substantial experience in the hotel industry and winning these prestigious contracts is testament the technology we use and to the quality of the virtual concierge solutions that we have worked hard to develop.
“We worked closely with both hotel groups to understand their commercial and budgetary objectives, enabling us to structure financially beneficial solutions for the companies.”
