Recently, our senior engineer, Mantas Pudzemis, made a rare trip to Tanzania to transform the guest WiFi experience at three Serena Hotels Properties; Ngorongoro Crater, Zanzibar and Dar es Salaam.
Serena Hotels are a brand of luxury hotels based across the world, with 35 of those in Africa and Asia. One of the challenges facing a lot of these properties is their complete isolation from any major population hubs with vast distances between venues that may not be easily accessible. Their legacy on property gateways hadn‘t been regularly updated and the guest experience was missing the latest innovations.

Serena wanted to give their guests options for registration and so tasked Airangel with creating a centralised portal page that was flexible and, thanks to the Cloud-First Solution, could be updated on the fly across the entire brand ensuring consistency between sites.
Guests can login using their room number, social media or their email address. Serena also wanted to offer access to premium bandwidth for customers that wanted a faster experience.
